Abstract
Today, due to the rapid growth of urbanization, it seems that the relationship between the inhabitants of cities and their living environment has decreased. So that the understanding and feeling of the person is connected and integrated with the semantic context of the environment. This sense is a factor that transforms a space into a place with special sensory and behavioral characteristics for certain people. The environment is made from both physical and social aspects. The purpose of the research is to evaluate the effects of attachment to the place in improving the quality of urban life of the residents of Mahabad city. The current research is descriptive and analytical in nature, the statistical population of the study is the residents of Mahabad city, which was obtained through Cochran's formula of 383 people. For data analysis, structural equations were used using second-order factor analysis with Spss and Amos software. The results showed that socio-cultural dimensions have the most effects directly 0.816 and indirectly 0.135 in creating attachment to the place with 0.951 in improving the quality of urban life and the least impact is related to perceptual-cognitive dimensions with direct effects. 0.451 and indirect 0.174 with a collective impact of 0.621. All the dimensions examined in the present research have an impact on creating attachment to the place and improving the quality of life of the residents of Mahabad city.
