Abstract
The present study uses Fairclough's critical discourse analysis theory and method to answer the question "How does Iranian cinema represent the environment?" It has examined three Iranian films that represent the issue of the environment. The results of the research show that the issues related to clean energy, lack of reliance on oil resources and development based on renewable resources, optimal use of water and energy, emphasis on changing a peaceful lifestyle with the environment, lack of government planning in recruitment, employment and lack of forces Forestry is represented in these three works. Also, the results show that environmental crises such as soil erosion, desertification, deforestation, unfair distribution of energy and water, drying up of wetlands and lakes, destruction of flora and fauna, and the policies of the government are not mentioned, and the issues of wood smuggling and garbage are not mentioned. Air pollution and the use of clean energy have been reduced; If the country's environmental crises include wider and more complex dimensions. Also, contrary to the views of experts and activists in the field of environment, it is assumed that the policies of the government in protecting the environment are perfect and complete, and in order to have a country without environmental problems, it is the citizens who must be diligent in the correct implementation of policies and laws. In addition to these cases, Iranian cinema's lack of attention to issues related to its environment is noteworthy and of particular importance.
